The short answer

A useful glass bottle enquiry identifies the application, capacity, quantity, closure, decoration and delivery destination. Include a drawing or reference when available.

A photograph communicates style, but it does not define a purchasable specification. A supplier also needs to understand what will be filled, how the bottle will be closed and which requirements are fixed. Separate mandatory features from ideas that can change.

Build one comparable enquiry

Use the same brief for every supplier. List the bottle and closure separately, describe the decoration coverage, and state whether quantities refer to bottles, assembled sets or finished retail packs. Attach artwork dimensions rather than a logo alone.

Ask for explicit exclusions

Request a breakdown covering glass, closures, decoration, tooling, sampling, packaging and transport assumptions. Ask which items remain provisional. A low unit price is not directly comparable if another quotation includes protective packaging or tooling.

Procurement checklist

  1. Name the intended contents and target capacity.
  2. Provide a bottle drawing, model code or reference image.
  3. State estimated order volume and reorder expectations.
  4. Describe closure, decoration and destination.
  5. Ask for quotation validity and a written list of exclusions.

Common question

Can I request a quotation without a technical drawing?

Yes. Send the target capacity, use and visual references, and ask the supplier to propose an existing design or define the drawing work required. Treat the initial price as conditional until the specification is agreed.
